Alex Grey
  Alex Grey (1953 - )
Grey's paintings can be described as an unusual and contemporary blend of sacred or visionary art and postmodern art; one term used to describe the artist's work is "transpersonal." His pictures often depict aspects of the supernatural world overlayed with aspects of the natural world.

William Blake William Blake (1757 - 1827)
Once considered mad for his idiosyncratic views, Blake is highly regarded today for his expressiveness and creativity, and the philosophical vision that underlies his work. He himself once indicated, "The imagination is not a State: it is the Human existence itself."

Andrew Gonzalez Andrew Gonzalez (1963 - )
Influenced by idealism in the mystical, visionary and esoteric traditions, the artist describes his work as a contemporary tantric or transfigurative art that explores the dramatic union of the sensual and spiritual. His work is akin to a revival of classical neoplatonic ideals centring on the figure as temple and vessel sublimated by transformative forces.

Mati Klarwein Mati Klarwein (1932 - 2002)
Much of Klarwein's most famous work is inspired by surrealism and pop culture, but also reflects his interest in non-Western deities, symbolism, and landscapes. The image at left was used for Miles Davis' 1970 album Bitches Brew.

Frank Frazetta Frank Frazetta (1928 - )
The fantasy and science fiction artist who is one of the most emulated artists of these genres in the world.

Moebius Moebius (1938 - )
French comic book artist Jean Giraud, a.k.a. Moebius and, to a lesser extent, Gir, is best known for his science fiction and fantasy work, also contributing storyboards and concept designs for numerous science fiction films including Alien, Time Masters, Masters of the Universe, Willow, The Abyss, Tron, The Fifth Element and Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.

M.C. Escher M.C. Escher (1898 - 1972)
Escher is known for his often mathematically-inspired woodcuts, lithographs and mezzotints. These feature impossible constructions, explorations of infinity, architecture and tessellations.

Jonathon Earl Bowser Jonathon Earl Bowser (1962 - )
Canadian artist Bowser's unique figurative-landscape paintings that he calls Mythic Naturalism are images looking for the mysterious poetry of which the natural world is made.

Maura Holden Maura Holden (1967 - )
Holden's fantastic, surrealistic, psychedelic, visionary paintings are, she says, the residue of the effort to find "things that can never be found," i.e. the impossible.

Dennis Konstantin Dennis Konstantin (1979 - )
Konstantin's Quantum Realism, a term defined by Salvador Dali some 40 years ago, a form of art, he predicted, which will be able to show the constant transformation of matter.

Oleg Korolev (1968 - )
A natural mystic, Russia-born Korolev depicts rich archetypal vistas that evoke layers of deep spirituality, carrying the light of divine energy into the sphere of visual art.
